"East Meets West" 2009 Annual Benefit

$1,800 raised to benefit the Cairo Human Rights Film Festival

Statement by Boston City Council President Mike Ross

Remarks by AIC's Nasser Weddady

Over 150 people packed the Foundation Lounge to celebrate a year of dynamic programming and support a breakthrough film festival in Cairo. The event featured gourmet cuisine at one of Boston’s premier lounges and cutting-edge world music by the acclaimed DJ Zaur - plus a fashion show blending styles from across the Muslim world. A brief ceremony featured Boston City Councilor Ayanna Pressley (standing in for Mike Ross) and awards recognizing outstanding community leaders. A charity raffle included items donated by an array of local businesses.

Congratulations to this year's leadership award winners!
