September of Celebration, Charity, and Music...

As Ramadan’s month-long fast instills a special appreciation for the gift of food, participants in this multicultural iftar collected cans of food to assist those going hungry. Over 150 cans of beans were collected to benefit the Pine Street Inn. 150 students and adults from across Boston gathered to enjoy cuisine by Cafeteria Boston and local caterers from West Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East along with a backdrop of international music. The iftar also feature informal professional networking with members of the American Islamic Congress’ New England Council who work in medicine, law, finance, academia, hi-tech, and the arts.
