
A historic civic ceremony with foreign dignitaries and local interfaith leaders, the event featured state legislators unveiling a groundbreaking resolution marking Ramadan, along with a special proclamation from Governor Deval Patrick. Student leaders and small business owners presented 500 cans to the Pine Street Inn, collected the week before at AIC's charity iftar and donated in part by over 15 businesses, including Helmand Restaurant, Moroccan Caravan, Turkuaz, Falafel King, and more.
Orchestra of Tetouan Presents Andalusian Music

The American Islamic Congress partners with MENA Music to bring world renowned artists from Morocco to perform in Boston. Led by Mehdi Chaachooa, the Orchestra of Tetouan specializes in the musical traditions of Medieval Andalusia that have been preserved in North Africa by the descendants of Muslim and Jewish refugees. Members of the orchestra are the descendants of refugees from Granada, keeping alive this centuries-old musical and poetic tradition.

The American Islamic Congress is proud to partner with Dünya for a unique interfaith concert featuring a choir and an ensemble of Greek and Turkish musicians performing together Greek Orthodox (Byzantine) and Turkish Sufi (Mevlevi) music. The concert will feature internationally acclaimed master musicians from Greece and Turkey: chanter Photis Ketsetzis, Professor of Byzantine Ecclesiastical Music at Hellenic College/Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology; and Senol Filiz, ney and Birol Yayla, tanbur, the Istanbul-based duo YANSIMALAR, whose many recordings span the range of contemporary Turkish classical and Sufi music, original composition and music for film.

Multicultural Eid al-Fitr Celebration

The American Islamic Congress is proud to join with the Bosnian Community Center for Resource Development for a family-style multicultural celebration of Eid al-Fitr, the holiday marking the end of Ramadan.
The evening features food, music, and dance.
