Aimée Chiu is the Director of Media, Communication and Public Relations for the American Islamic Congress. In addition to her primary responsibility of conducting media outreach, Aimée oversees AIC’s communications strategy, including social media, marketing and PR, publications and event logistics. Prior to joining AIC, Aimée spent five years in the documentary and film industry as a producer, director, writer and production manager for productions ranging from small indie films to large-scale international documentaries. She has traveled extensively for her work and has interviewed and profiled notable figures in the sports, arts, political and business worlds. Her background also includes five years in public relations working for a major international newswire and broadcast public relations production company. Aimée holds an M.A. in Intercultural Communication from DePaul University and a B.S./B.A. in Anthropology and Philosophy from Loyola University Chicago. She is conversational in German and has basic Italian skills, and she enjoys hiking, reading biographies and drinking tea.
