A night of poetry and music with artists from around the world.
Before the modern poetry slam, there was the mushaira, a forum for free expression historically beloved in Pakistan and North India. Friday, October 12, AIC fuses live music with this traditional South Asian poetry symposium in a special edition of Back Bay Unplugged.
Ten musicians from across the world will present pieces by a poet from their home country, but there’s a twist – each poem is set to performers’ original music, played live. If you enjoyed last week’s Flamenco Night with Juan Perez Rodriguez and Friends, you won’t want to miss this show! Stay tuned for details about the lineup at www.aicongress.org.
