Public Education: Guides & Speaking

AIC's mission is to promote tolerance and the exchange of ideas among Muslims and between other peoples. We advocate ‘two-way’ interfaith understanding via public speaking to civic groups and publishing guides addressing difficult topics.

Public Speaking
As part of our interfaith outreach, AIC staff have spoken at mosques, churches, synagogues, and other religious institutions. We provide informative and eye-opening presentations to students from junior high through university. Speakers share personal experiences, address current events, and explain how the members of the public can get involved in our efforts.

To book an AIC speaker for your community group or school, please contact our offices.

Guides for Communities
Local communities often contact our office seeking guidance on addressing difficult topics, including interfaith dialogue, responding to hate speech, and how to teach about Islam to students. In response to these requests, AIC has produced the following free handbooks:

Each guide is available for free on the Internet and can be used in diverse settings. If you would like further information, please contact our offices.

Advocacy
AIC staff inform policy makers on the local, state, and national level about civil rights challenges. See below examples of recent Congressional testimony and briefings
